I have tried numerous times to upate. Same message occurrs. I have deleted thru Add/Remove programs and then run a search to remove any remnants of the program. I have reinstalled and tried to update. Same message. Is anybody else having the same problems.

Over the years I've had to manually go on Lavasoft site and manually download the update and unpack it in the proper directory. It seems like problems happen when you update code via the check for updates. So now I only download virus database updates. When it asks me to update the program I decline. Eventually I uninstall then download and install a newer version. This seems to cut down on the update problems quite a bit.

Even when it works it seems a bit flaky though. You press the button and sometimes
it doesn't tell you what the status is for a few minutes. So you press the button again,
then it updates, then it tells you that you are a moron for pressing the button because your virus database is up to date!

Well, I sure as hell can't find anywhere to download anything. Just went to Lavasoft.com tried to dowloads .00056 or something like that. Then it says it needs to find the source that created it. So if you could point me the direction in what to download it would be appreciated. So I don't know what to download.

My current version is 0045-0000

Thats one of the reasons I left Adware 2007 and went to AVG anti-spyware.

Both freeware versions, and I like the user interface much better in AVG anti-spyware. 7.5.1.43 free

DL the latest definitions from the website; unzip them (it's one file called core.aawdef) and place it into C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 2007

Regards

It looks like you can place them anywhere you would like and point to them through the "web Update","Settings" tab then click on the buttin to browse for location next to the "use Defintions File" window. I've got mine stuck in C:\Program Files\lavasoft\ad-aware\ad-aware 2007.
