Default ?? busted drive?

I'm guessin' my drive is busted?

After finding my 2 1/2 year old daughter carting her favourite dvd around I decided to do her a backup ....damn things are expensive down here (NZ)
everything seemed to be progressing well until finalisation and verification....any ideas??
reason I'm asking is that disc's HAVE to be finalised to play on my (her) dvd player
