Did you make a log of your burn with ImgBurn? If not, turn on the log feature in Tools → Settings → Events → Save the log (and put in a path).

What type of blanks? Put one in your drive, bring up ImgBurn in write mode and copy and paste everything in the top right window.

Regards

Unhappy BUrning Log ??

Blutach.......Sorry but I did not save the log... I did not know I have to do this and check box was uncheck......But the only thing I did during burning process was :
Program asked me something about a ¨layer brake¨ right before begin to burn, and I choose the command ¨IGNORE LAYER BRAKE¨
do you think this can be the problem ??

thanks !

Yes. You need to read cornholio7's guides on the IB site (see sticky in this forum for a link). You HAVE to set the LB for DL media.

Please copy and paste the info I asked for. In the meantime, read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning.

Im afraid the Ritek Dual layer discs arent the best, I belive that Verbatim are the only ones that are really reliable.

Out with the Ritek, in with the Verbs if you want success. PLEASE update your firmware. It is 1,000 versions behind. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2053 (Get BSRB).

Read and implement the Golden Rules of Burning.

i'm gonna have to agree with everyone else here... no one other than Verbatim makes usable DVD+R DL media. CMC is the only other manufacturer that makes decent DL media, but they are much harder to find, and with the prices of Verbatim DVD+RDL media coming down, theres no reason not to get Verbatim. also, avoid DVD-RDL media completely. not even verbatim can make a stable -RDL disc.

you may want to try updating your firmware with your DW1640, and also maybe try fiddling with the solidburn settings (via ImgBurn or Qsuite). your firmware revision (BSHB) is fairly old; try updating the firmware (i recommend BSLB).

Solidburn lets your drive learn the media, then attempts to burn the same media with better results with the next burn. it takes at least 1 burn to learn the media. this is good for media thats variable in quality, and media that is not recognized by the drive (which is VERY rare, as the DW1640 is VERY compatible).

ImgBurn can be downloaded from here: http://wwwImgBurn.com, and Qsuite/new firmware can be downloaded from here: http://support.benq.com/front/BenqMa...nMenu=&RootId=

edit: considering this is the ImgBurn section, i'm sure you already have it.
you need at least version 1.3 (or 1.2?) to enable solidburn in ImgBurn. to enable solidburn, click on the little icon in the bottom right of the top window (change advanced settings) -> BenQ.
