Default how to copy

at the risk of appearing dense,
how do I use a dvd as the source in order to burn to a blank disk?

I have just started using imageburn and understand how to burn TS files but confused on making a copy of a backed up dvd..

I used Build Mode, select source as drive with backup, select destination as drive with blank. Sit back and watch ImgBurn do the rest.

Worked fine for me but depends on computer, setup, processes etc.. You can run into problems, I still like the safer way, ISO read to HDD, ISO write to blank.

Use read mode to make an ISO (unencrypted DVDs only). Then switch to write mode and you're good to go!

Duh....

Sorry guys.
I think my post was describing copying via "on the fly which wasn;t what I wanted..

I just wanted to copy same as I do in Nero where as I insert [uncrypted disk], let it write to drive then wait for prompt to insert blank, which I think you answered..

btw:
I use a Plextor burner and with Nero 7 ultra I am getting 2 errors when burning..which Is why I am using image burn to see if it is the Nero software or my plextor is dying..

errors are:
"power calibration error" or "cannot write to end of disk".
I use shrink so I am at the maximum 4.35 gigabytes disk space
for burning but,
someone told me Nero7 allocates up to 4.40 for burning.
could this be the problem of "unable to write to end of disk?
hope I am making this clear..
Tony.

Just follow what blutach said, ISO Read to your hard drive & then take that saved ISO & ISO write, all with ImgBurn.

Hmmm...actually I thought I mentioned both ways, copy on the fly and the ISO Read, ISO write method.

You should post a recent problematic burn log so we can have a look.

(and I did think you wanted the "copy on the fly" method initially, lol)

Just popped in a new Plextor 716A which I bought as a backup 4 months ago when Plextor phased out this model.

My problem all along was a dying burner..

rest in peace Plextor .

score:
Plextor vrs MPAA.. 100's upon 100's of backups..
wore out 2 plex's in 3yrs..

yes you both explained on the fly method.
I've been very upset lately..
not thinking straight but I'm getting better......

Well, glad you got it figured out.
I didn't have the best explanation now that I read back, in a rush, going to work coffee not kicking in yet, you know......
