that burner is a little old and your firmware way out of date,

download US08 and the flash utility and extract to a new folder on your desktop

boot into safe mode and update your drive(empty/no disks)

I'm way new to this. Something that i think could be wrong is that i cant find the file i once had to burn to imageburn straight from dvd shrink, so im creating an ISO on my harddrive then burning it separately. Im sorry, but i dont know how to update my firmware cuz i dont even know what firmware is and i dont know which program to choose from. I see that i should be using verbatim DVDs i am currently using memorex. Also my DMA is on mode 6 and i dont know how to change it to 5. What else can you see by the way the log looks? any other suggestions? and chewy i have no idea how to do any of that. i have much to learn, but im a quick learner. I downloaded the US08 file, but for some reason it wont let me use the flash file.

dma 6 is a hard drive not a dvd burner

Your burner struggled to burn a little more than half the burn in 8 minutes so dma is probably on for the dvdburner?

firmware is the code the burner uses to identify and burn the blank

just download those 2 files, put them in a folder together and click on the flash utility and it should select the firmware

Wow guys, thanks! everything works fine now. The quality isnt that good with nemo, but i assume thats just because theres alot of data with all the graphics in that movie. other than that everything is very smooth, thanks for everything!

I would verify those burns, had some of those blanks(fuji's) and they have a few bad spikes in them

Verify in Imageburn? If that is what your talking about, i have it set to verify automatically. I just put the dvd in my player and it worked. any suggestions on quality? or is that just because it had to be shrunken down?

use shrink to reauthor and lose everything but the main movie

if you have to compress below 80-90 then use da and aec

Verify in ImgBurn is always a good idea, especially with questionable media.

If you aren't familiar with DVD Shrink Quality settings and the AEC options, the link below should help. AEC will make a huge difference when a fair amount of compression is needed.
