Default Audio streams

Hey everyone, I am new at this and I have been trying to burn the movies that I have downloaded. I am using Avi2dvd to convert the files in order to burn them. On a large number of files there is no audio stream. I can watch the videos on my computer and they are perfect. I don't understand why , when I use Avi, that there is no audiostream. Any insight to this?
