hi

i am new here

I want to know how to encode dvd to mkv with

Format
AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : High@L4.1

VidCoder will allow you to do it. The level might be slightly higher or lower, but in practical terms, this doesn't really mean much unless you have stringent requirements. You can always enforce the level requirements yourself, and then manually change the AVC level using a tool like this after encoding.

I want to know the average bitrate or Constant Quality value to keep to get mkv, with all quality of the dvd video.Means i want dvd quality as it is in MKV.in vidcoder .means all bells and whistle of dvd.

DVD uses MPEG-2, which isn't a very efficient codec any more, not as good as AVC. So you should be able to get the same quality with a smaller file size.

I would use Constant mode, and a value between 19 and 21 (the lower the value, the better quality - you can also use decimals).
