Default x264 64 bit?

I notice there's a 64 bit version of x264. But there doesn't seem to be a realistic way of using it since AviSynth and its filters afaik are all 32 bit. Can anyone point me to more info on actually using x264.exe 64 bit on Vista64?

Evidently someone is giving 64 bit AviSynth a go using Intel compiler:
