"To start off with you can not just change from divx3.11 to divx4 or 5. First you must make the divx3.11 movie into a mpg file, I cant remember what program I used to do this but I think it was TMPGENC or VIRTUAL-DUB. after that you need to encode the movie into divx4 or 5, again I can't remember what program I used to do this but I think it was FLASK0594 or VIRTUAL-DUB/NANDUB"

Stop "blowing smoke" - It's embarrassingly obvious from this wealth of misinformation that you've done very little, if any, actual encoding...
