Default DivX decompressors for Win XP

I have general question regarding DivX 5.02 for WinXP
I used to use Win98 and installed DivX 5.02 on it.
When I switched to WinXP and installed it on WinXP
suddenly files I could open on 98 stoped opening.
I've checked on and it said that my DivX
instalation is good for 95/98/XP/2000/ME.
So what is wrong??

Would appreciate any help!

These files probably require a different decompressor, as opposed to DivX. You can check what is required via Virtualdub:
1. Open the file in Virtualdub
2. Go to File -> File Information
3. Post what information you see here
