Default Does DivX PRO need to be set using GK?

I installed Divx PRO 5.0.2 and started to encode with Gordian Knot 0.27.

I was wondering if I need to manually set something in Divx 5.0.2 configuration before launching GK.

I mean, GK directly sets most of the DivX parameters, so I suppose it would override what I have set before. But this is true for every setting or is there something that I should set by myself?

Thanks and regards.

Thank you Uncas,
your answer is a relief

I was worrying about how to discover which combination of settings would be the best......
(of course depending on the kind of movie)

Bye!
