Unhappy Frameserving and audio.

Hello,
Does frameserving in any form not directly support audio ?Do i have to extract the audio separately from the source and then couple it with the video using VDub or any other software.
I am using and Avisynth script(.avs) to load a VCD file(ie .dat ie MPEG 2 file) into VDub.But i do not get any audio in VDub.
Can anybody help ?
Thanks.

vcd is not an mpeg-2 stream but mpeg-1

in order to have virtualdub handle/load vcd you could even spare frameserving and load it directly (should work at least with virtualdubMOD - which is the best version anyway).

you will have to handle audio separetly in your case.

one question, though: why do you want to load an mpeg1or2 stream into vd?

i would not recommend reencoding vcd/svcd material because you will loose to much quality.

Smile Hello UncasMS.

Hello,
Actually what i want to do is that i want to encode the VCD into DivX so that the size reduces and i can rip an entire 2 CD movie into one single CD.
I use VDub for encoding into DivX ,but many times it reports errors in the VCD stream. So i thought of frameserving. But when FSing it does not take the audio embedded in the VCD file as otherwise when we open it thru File|Open.. .So i need a .wav of the entire file.Do you know a software which extracts audio into a .wav directly from the VCD ?
Thanks for the reply.

check your other posting on the question as how to extract/demux the audio stream from vcd.

the answer should be TMPEG.
