Unhappy-2 Freeze when it gets bright very quickly?

Hi There

I'm having some troubles with two DVDs here.

I'm encoding them using XMpeg 4.5 and DivX 5.02 pro using the GMC and Bidirectional Encoding (but NOT quarter pixel because this slows down playback on older machines...). I'm always using dual pass to fill a CD exactly which also works very well.
But I've two movies here which get problems:
Both have some scenes in where there's a one-frame-long flash (photo-flash in one, gunfire in the other), making the frame very bright and the next one goes back to normal.
Playback ALWAYS freezes at that point and the only way to resume is RELOAD the movie and get to a point shortly after that.
Nandub shows no problem at that point, can go through it frame by frame, tough I'v seen that it does NOT make this bright one a keyframe; is't a normal one....

Anyone seen this problem before and has a fix for it?

Thanks a lot!!
