Default Java Using Divx

Does anyone know anything about using Java to stream video? As I understand it, Java will read MPEG-4 and Divx is an MPEG-4 encoder. I was wondering if anyone is aware of any plug in or other way to encode MPEG-4 using Divx or other comparable software in order that it can be played using a java based player?
Any information would be greatly appreciated
Gerald

Eventuallyits better using mpeg1-2 since they require lower bandwidth.Unlike Mpeg4 it would take plently of time to stream
a small clip.
