Default Need massive help. with vob merging for output to vhs

Ok I am trying to merge all the vob files using a merging software.. So far I can get the first 4 files to work perfectly.. then I try to add the last one and it kills over.

1-4=3.99gig (merged)
5=610mb (need to merge)

I know windows me and 98 (fat32 ) has a 4 gig limit per (single) file.

but Im in XP and it supports a (NTFS) 1000gig (single) file limit.
but I cant get it to merge..

the reason I am merging them is becuase when playing them I get a skip when it switches to the next vob file it is like a 1/2sec delay. if you know a way to fix this please tell me.

also here is my system specs.

AMD 1900+ O.C'ed 1867mhz
EPOX 8KHA+
1gig ddr pc2100 crucial
1x120gig ATA133 (On Promise ULTRA133 card)
2x80gig ATA100
2x40gig ATA100
Nvidia GF3 TI500 64mb
Audigy Gammer

What software DVD player are you using that produces this out-of-the-ordinary delay?

well it skips because the files are on my hdd. I dont have a dvd player.. my cousin rips them for me and gives them too me.. then I encoded them but when playing them in VOB format with any player they skip.

I have used Powerdvd, Windvd.

The 4gig-limit is mostely caused by the software that still works with 32bit. You didn't write which merging-software u use, but maybe CM's Digital Videotool can help.

I think WinDVD only has the 1/2sec-delay if you select the vob-files in the file-mode. If you rip the whole dvd to a folder named "video_ts" in the root of your hdd WinDVD should play them as a normal dvd without any skipping.
