Question Processing audio with avisynth

I have started using an Avisynth script for my encodes instead of the vFAPI codec converter, although it's a bit more work the gains in speed make it quite worth writing it. I have been looking at some of the many functions available and I wonder if anybody uses Avisynth to process the audio in their rips. Apparently, it's possible to frameserve a wav file to VirtualDub so that it can compress it to an MP3 or an Ogg. Is anybody processing the audio this way? What kind of results are you getting? Thanks for your replies.

I personally prefer separately processing the audio. Gives more flexibility and does not tie you to mainly Virtualdub for audio processing.
