Exclamation-2 Resizing (in Megs not View) a video

I need help to resize a video I got, I need to redo it so that it's file size is 700 megs instead of the current 750. Can anyone suggest a program taht I can use to resize it please help.

suggestion:

does the video have start and/or end credits.
if you dont need them, using virtual dub set your selection start and selection end so that you dont include the credits and save avi. this can save quite a bit of space sometimes.

if you want the credits ignore this message.

But rember to select direct stream copy for video in virtualdub.

Another option would be to reencode the audio at a slightly lower bitrate.

no it doesn't have credits

khp, what were you talking about? I don't get the virtual dub thing

oh and I don't have the original source for the vid, so I can't re-encode it.

is there a way to re-encode it using the current file, at a lower bit-rate?

You don't need any "original source" to recompress the video. Just open the avi in VirtualDUB, select new codec and bitrate for video and/or audio and save as avi.
