Default are M2v and MP2 Audio the same?

are these 2 the same except for the extention?

.M2V is typically an extension used for an MPEG2 VIDEO stream...

No. M2v is a MPEG 2 Videostream which has naviagion data in it ( for remuxing ). Is that right? MP2 is just the previous format of mp3. They have nothing in common.
