Default Need help with mydvd

This is my first posting. I did a search but didnt find any answers. I am creating a movie with different vob files using mydvd.

For some reason my dvd player won't forward to the next title. The only way to do it is go to the menu and select the title I want.

Someone suggested creating the different vobs as chapters and not title, but I coudnt find that option in mydvd.

If mydvd is not the answer then can someone please suggest an alternative.

Thanks for your help.

Hi jacob and welcome to the forums

In order for your player to forward to the next title with the next button on the remote (I presume this is what you are talking about), there needs to be certain commands in your DVDs IFOs. These jump/call/link commands are dependent on where the titles are located, their numbers etc. Sometimes, a call needs to be made back to the VMGM in order to jump to the title you need. Plus you need to set up dummy PGCs to do this.

A good guide for doing this with a reauthored DVD Shrink DVD can be found here.

Regards

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

"If mydvd is not the answer then can someone please suggest an alternative."

"TMPGEnc DVD Author" (Different than "TMPGEnc" and "TMPGEncPlus") has provision for combining like-structured (video and audio) .VOBs into one TITLE with chaptering of your choice...

(Although it's commercial software, you can obtain a free, fully functional, 30 day trial version)
