Exclamation No Audio on mpg2 after converted

My boyfriend has just bought a dvd+r and has been trying to make dvds.
He has .avi files, and has converted it with tmpgenc, but there is no sound. Right now I have got him to go into environmental settings and changing the priority setting in something to the highest setting because I read if the movie is encoded with ac3 sound he would need to do that. But we still have to wait 5 hours to find out if it worked.
Please if anyone could tell us will it work? or if there's something else we could try that will?
Thanks muchly.

welcome to the forum.....

in TMPGEnc, under "Environmental Settings", set the "Direct Show Multimedia Reader" to the highest priority listed ("1" is usually sufficient.)

TMPGEnc will now be able to process both the video and audio streams of this file..."

make sure to have an ac3 filter or codec installed

if this does not solve your problem proceed like this:

load your file into virtualdub MOD newest version (Not virtual dub)

demux your audiofile by choosing -->stream-->streamlist-->demux-->"filename".ac3
use the program "Headac3 he" to process it to wav.....

then use your original avi to be a source for the tmpeg videosource
and the headac3 he outputfile as audiosource

by the way if you have a question about transcoding a movie to another format and encounter problems....

either load your movie into virtualdub mod post in here
the file information from the filedropdown menue

or load your source movie into Gspot (freeware tool)
and post in here a screenshot of what it tells you....

this would make it much easier to be of valuable
assistance in the future....

good luck!!
