Question Avi or Mpeg Whats The Best

I Currently use Dvd To Mpeg and Have a little quality issue, its watchable but sometimes verry pixely in the background. Also Iv tried Divix And I Had a problem with the sound was studdery and skiped?
All The files i rip weather avi or mpeg play perfect in windows media player and i dont know why there are messed up when i go to burn them? Sometimes sound and sometimes color distortion but not scrambled.
ANY ADVICE WILL BE GREATLY APPERCIATED THX

First of all, more info ! what do you want to achieve ?
because maybe there's an simpler way to do this, i guess you want to edit VOB's ? if you don't need to convert these, you shouldn't do so...
But like i said, give some more info....

Again, please explane yourself !

You can drag VOB's in both TMPGEnc DVD Author, and DVDLab,
edit things, but you loose the original menu's.
If you only want to remove certain parts out of the original DVD,
you can use DVDSchrink, i believe... but DVDSchrink i've never
used, but the other two i use often.

What exactly do you want to do ?

I guess you get "problems" keeping the AC3 sound and subtitles,
and you have to use IFOedit to restore certain "links" you have
damaged during editing, it's not that easy, try your luck at www.dvdrhelp.com for guides and links...
