Default Best source-file sizes for DVD Flick?

Hi guys,

I'm converting video from my family's HD camcorder to SD so I can master some standard DVDs for our relatives who don't have HD players (heh). Once I've rendered the MPEG-2 files, I'll use DVD Flick to master DVDs from them.

Here's my question: Is it okay if I render a single big (~4GB) MPEG-2 file for each DVD? Or will that require DVD Flick to reencode the files to break them into proper sizes for VOBs? If I keep them under a certain size—say, 1GB each—does DVD Flick just use them as-is?

It's a bit more trouble to render multiple files per video, but I'm glad to do that if it'll improve quality and save rendering time. Thanks!

I think (but I may be wrong) that DVD Flick re-encodes the input video files anyway. But you can probably encode the HD files directly with DVD Flick, and therefore produce directly the final DVD. Of course, DVDF must be able to load the files produced by your camcorder. Is it the case?

If your camcorder saves in .ts or .tp format, you may find this specialized free tool useful

If it saves is some other format please note it. I have a couple of schemes to get very good quality standard DVD from .m2ts or .mkv in one pass.
