Default changing a dvd menu

Hi
am making a few dvd's for friends and wanted to change the menu on each dvd to personalise it.

when i create a different menu with the same movie, TMPG DVD author wants to re-encode the whole 4.3gb.

is there a way to just re-encode the menu only and not the whole movie?

am using TMPG & TMPG DVD Author.

thanks

No - I don't think there is.

"am making a few dvd's for friends"

If these are copies of commercial DVDs, your question is, at the very least, in violation of the rules of these forums (Since your friends don't each own the commercial DVD)...

The Origin of these DVD's was not mentioned. Assuming they are commercial DVD's is presumptuous to say the least.

@ormonde et al - Menuedit does the trick

After making the new menus, mock strip them with IfoEdit.

Default To Reiss

No presumption on my part. Re-read carefully and you'll see that I said, "If these are copies of commercial DVDs..."

"IF" is the operative word...

You can perform this function with "DVD Author" as you have previously indicated that you have used, but you will have to "Author" a new set of DVD-related files if you wish to make even a simple change.
