Default Help me

HI,

I have an AVI video file of size 1.12GB

I want to burn it in a DVD capacity of 4.7GB.

I used Pinnacle studio which says the file is very big to fit in disc

I have DVD shrink and nero software

Can anyone guide me how to burn a DVD from an AVI file which is more than 650MB ?

I saw the forum discussions which has suggestions like authoring, ripping TMpengc etcc.. which are like greek to me

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance

Marat

"I used Pinnacle studio which says the file is very big to fit in disc"

Will Pinnacle Studio allow you to save the oversized DVD group of files to your hard drive? If so, you can then use DVD Shrink (Select "Open Files") to compress.

If not, use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" instead of Pinnacle Studio - and click on "Ignore" when "TMPGEnc DVD Author" displays a notification (not an error) that the filesize is too big...

Default Help me

Thanks for ur suggestion

But first i have a problem in converting The AVI divx movie to MPEG

The resulting file has no sound

Using Tmpgenc 2.5 in this settings i converted an AVI divx file(movie) to MPEG (DVD NTSC)

stream type:system(audio+video)
format: DVD NTSC
File: MPEG 2
Audio :CBR Mpeg1 layer audio(MP2)
Resolution:352*240
Average Video Bit rate: 1543kbps
Audio Bit rate:384kbps
fps: 29.97

And under this setting i converted into mpeg
And now the the end file has no sound but the video is good

What can i do?

1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDub (or any of its variants) or NanDub

2) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

3) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (both video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

The audiostream is probably in either .AC3 format or Variable Bitrate MPEG Layer 3 (VBR .MP3).

If it proves to be .AC3:

In TMPGEnc, under the "Environmental Settings" "VFAPI plugin" tab rightclick on the "Direct Show Multimedia Reader" and increase to one greater than the highest priority of listed items.. This will enable TMPGEnc to accept a properly encoded .AVI with .AC3 audio for input...

If it proves to be VBR:

Simply use VirtualDubMOD (Different than standard VirtualDub), to save the audio stream as an Uncompressed PCM (WAV) file as follows:
Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV

1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)

2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"

4) From the "File" dropdown menu, save the .AVI with a new filename

1st .AVI - audio = "Compression : Unknown(tag 2000)". This is indicative of an .AC3 audiostream. Follow the instructions I've already provided for getting TMPGEnc to recognize .AC3 audiostreams.

2nd .AVI - audio=VBR .MP3. Follow the instructions I've already provided for converting VBR .MP3 audio to .WAV format.

Hi

Thanks for ur reply
I tried both ways and is not working

First case in TMPGenc it says when selecting the audio source it says it cannot open the file or unsupported

In second case i followed the steps what u said (Virtualdubmod) and the resulting video that is the avi file when played has sound only for the half of the movie and the other half has no sound

I dont know what to do

Is there any remedy?
