Default how do i re-encode menu vobs?

help all i want to do is re-encode a 618mb menu vob from minority report, and still have a working menu at the end of it. i use dvd2dvd-r to do the main movie, but the menu vob is huge so i want to re-encode it with cce to a lower quality. trouble is when i used a straight vob to cce re-encode i ended up with a non working menu.

I've had good luck with the following way to re-encode menus.

Each menu VOB file can have multiple VOB ids in it. I open the menu vob file with VobEdit and tell it to demux on VOB IDs. This creates a separate VOB file for each VOB ID. I then recode the video in each separate VOB file (I used rempeg2) and remux the new video in with IfoEdit. You can then use VobEdit to recombine the multiple files into one menu VOB again.

IfoEdit has a remux m2v option to remux the video in a VOB file.
