Default HowTo Title a DVD for settop players/jukeboxes

I Have 2 video jukeboxes (Pioneer dv-f727). Due to the lame menu system my backups need to be Titled inside VIDEO_TS.IFO file.
DVDShrink doesn't do this. So I came up with a DVD compliant way. This method only works on ReAuthored - Movie only DVD backups.
No extras, menus and only one titleset.

A basic Video_ts template is modified by a small proggie after shrinking and copied on top of VIDEO_TS.IFO and VIDEO_TS.BUP.
Tested results play fine on jukeboxes and in powerdvd, Ifoedit etc (Unlike sirgawain123's method).
Result files can also be reopened in DVDShrink (A fair test for compliancy)

To use: simply Shrink and reauthor DVD normally to Hard drive folder (Can't shrink with burn)
Run Titlewriter - fill in fields - and find video_ts to be modified -Hit button. (No Ifoedit step sirgawain)
Burn Normally

Note: This proggie likes the dummy.ifo to be located in c: (Root directory) (Very stripped down/dumb little proggie)

Some single loader settop players also display this info on front

Anyway Happy Shrinking

Excellent.

I tried following the dvdrhelp guide, and it wanted to mess about with hex editors. I couldn't do it.

Been playing with TitleWriter

Revisions:

Lost the dummy.ifo file (internal now)
Added support for up to 4 titlesets on a re-authored disc

It is an excellent little program. What is the reason why it cannot be used on a full disc with menus?

Will it work with my custom made DVD's with four titles with a small menu made in TMPGEnc DVD Author?

The more complicated the Video_ts structure, the more locations that have to be analysized. DVDShrink in reauthor mode writes a very simple structure. To handle all Video_ts.ifo's I would literally have to rewrite a complete IFoEdit style program to just add the titles.

Mr Shrink could add DVDTitle support as all the number's are at his fingertips so to speak - but its not likely it will happen.

as to a tmpgenc dvd not a clue - never tested any video_ts ifo with menus but the filelength must be < = 8K I would have to see the video_ts.ifo file to know if it would work

I will try it. The menu is normally only a very small one with just a title selection (no chapter selection).

This proggie was designed to get DVDTitles into DVDshrink files then into settop jukeboxes menu system . Jukes have 11char limit on each entry. Offhand I can't think of any commercial disc where this limit is exceeded. Perhaps you are thinking of The disc volumn titles/info or perhaps I'm all wet.

I tried it with DVD author output. This had four titles with a very small title menu.

It gave the disc a title, but on opening in Shrink, it only found the first title and no menu..

It is a good program and will be useful. I am pretty sure I have seen DVD text longer than 11 characters on my Sony player. I will check a few DVD's out.

Edit..

I knew Ghostbusters R1 has text and it does. It shows Ghostbusters which is 12 characters. I have also seen a film where the text goes (film title) special edition.

You are right on size limits seems the string has to end with hex 09. Been studing - seems that the menu is the limiting factor forcing a write in the middle of the Video_ts.Ifo then readjusting everything. this proggie only adds to the end. Maybe I'll play some more
