Many DVD burners require that you first PLAY a commercial DVD in them - so that a region is established...

I don't know - but I personally wouldn't want to risk it...

Did the burner come with, or do you also have installed, a software DVD player (such as WinDVD or PowerDVD)?

I guess as many pioneer drives the player/burner is RPC 1 based.
just follow setarips advice the regionsetting can be removed afterwards!!!

Your friend and mine is being critical of the fact that, rather than edit my first post, I chose to make a second post.

I guess he didn't notice that the two posts are directed to two different posters to this thread...

to setarip:

I noticed that, that┤s why I added the questionmarks.
but I am also one who might not hit the topic by fast rereading it.

I might be naive but I do regard you and uncas as friends of
mine, since we all follow an urge to share our knowledge
about digital video with others.
that is well representet by the fact that I tend to qoute your
very resourceful answers as often as I redirect people to UNCAS┤
site.(homepage)and most times simply out of lazyness!

I do not know what is goin on between you and uncas (just to name it) !!!.since I am not long enough in this forum , I guess it is some sort of personal matter. But I mention that you both contribute to our all, or at least my amusement when you carry out your little battles. regards to you (seta)rip..darling and to you UNCAS

"darling"

Cute - really cute...

(You must be a friend you a young female poster who can't figure out how to get any software to work on any of her illicitly obtained videos ;>})

"I do not know what is goin on between you and uncas"

As far as I'm concerned, it's all lighthearted "back and forth"...

no not friend..... just that I never give up to help till I get the result that I want. another thing is that I am very unlikely to forget what someone said or did write., and it comes up in the most unconfortable moments you can imagine.
I still have to work on that!!!
enough of messing up that thread??!!!

i guess you didnt guess so because you know i knew fairly well who you were addressing.

i simply consider this one more hillarious example of your spam-posts.

reading this i might ask you to be so kind as to stick to your own credo of politeness (hyprocritcal as it may be to others) and refrain from offensive posting such as this:

to uncas:

the following qoute was targeted at me :
(You must be a friend you a young female poster who can't figure out how to get any software to work on any of her illicitly obtained videos ;>})

since we both were involved in that thread and I DID qoute barbie_gurl with mentioning rip..darling be sure that I was the target of his humorous reply.

i'm familiar with that posting and its content and i knew what setarip was alluding to.

be it as it may: i consider it offending and arrogant; especially, when the other person may not read this thread or *contribute* to it and thus simply hasnt even got the chance to reply to this *polite reference*.

I would not underestimate barbie_gurl since she surley did some chat and knows how to set a forum to read. and as she has shown , knows to defend herself in her own way..... as anyone has to if he/she is adressed in a opposing manner!
