Unhappy NEW DVDD\DVD Shrink\DVD Author NO Sound

Please Help! Working With Lil Black Book (region 1, NTSC) used the New DVD Decrypter (File Mode) to HD, Then DVD Shrink 3.2 (Reauthored main title only w\ first 2 min. edited)

Here's the problem, after Authoring with TMPGEnc DVD Author to add menus, I have no sound on finished DVD.

What can I Do To get TMPGEnc DVD Author to see the Audio file?

Thanks,

What are you authoring with DVD TMPGEnc for? If you have already ripped with DVD Decrypter and shrunk the movie using DVD Shrink.

I am assuming you meant to say TMPGEnc DVD Author when you said DVD Author ?

Nope, if you play the unauthored vobs from DVD Shrink stage with Power DVD or burn them to a DVD With no menus they play fine, with sound.

It's only when I run them through TMPGEnc DVD Author to add Menus that I lose the sound.

Thanks you guys for the help this forum is Great!

You might like to put the menus back following this guide.

Also, there is a later version of TMPGEnc DVD Author out. It's a free upgrade.

Regards

Great guide, but Is there an easier way to get TMPGEnc DVD Author to except the vobs that were ripped with DVD Decrypter\DVD Shrink reauthored (start and end Edited main title only) with sound?

Try using ".AC3Fix" to standardize the audio headers of each .VOB.

("TMPGEnc DVD Author" and many other authoring programs are "picky" about audio headers, which sometimes get altered or lost as a consequence of the kind of cutting you've performed)

Is there a guide explaining this process? I'm Having trouble getting TMPGEnc DVD Author to see all the fixed ac3s. I've got to be doing something wrong.

I have had a similar problem -

once I had Authored I had lost the Audio as well, so what I did to resolve this was to open say

1) "VideoFile" in VirtualDubMod save as AVI then

2) open the saved "Video File" AVI with VirtualDub then saved the Wav file and then

3) I went back to TMPGEnc Author and used the original "Video File" but then for Audio used the Wav I had saved with VirtualDub and guess what

4) burned it and it worked like a charm in sync as well

Hope it works for you as well

PS Where I had to shrink as well had no bad effects either on it

Ooooppss forgot to mention,

you only have to open the "video file" in VirtualDubMod if it is an MPG file - so you can save as an AVI

For AVI use VirtualDub then proceed onwards to as above post.
