Default Re-encoding

I shot 90 minutes of video and created an MPEG2 file using Ulead Video Studio but it's very dark (shot at a party inside of a house). I ran it through ReMPEG2 with the pre-processing (brightness) slider all the way up. The resulting video is greatly lightened and looks much better but the sound appears to be stripped out. Why do I need to do to get sound back. I'd like to take the resulting video and add chapters and burn using the Dazzle DVD Complete product. Any better way to 'lighten' a very dark video?

Use TMPGEnc - Check the available adjustment settings under the "Advanced" tab..
