Default Reauthoring Insanity

Can anyone assist, I'll keep it short and sweet for simplicity. I am trying to do the following, is tyhere a guide for it or simillar:

Reauthoring an older DVD with AC3 audio and want to remove all unwanted content and replace the menu and background with my own. (done this before) However, since TMPGEnc will not encode AC3 without the plugin is there a way/guide in doing this in standard Stereo without creating an audio sync problem.

My tools are:

DVDShrink
DVD Decrypter
TMPGEnc DVD Author
Nero Ultra

Thankx big time in advace

Convert the Ac-3 stream to 2 channel anything (LPCM, AC-3, MP3 whatever) with BeSweet (http://dspguru.doom9.net/) and remux it in. Muxman (mpucoder) can remux nicely.

I take it you're OK with the menus.

Good luck

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.

ok, so I take it if I reencode to another audio format I don't need the headache of the TMPG plugin for a proper burn right? I don't know much about BeSweet I'll have to check it out.. What is the best format for audio other than the original AC3 to covert to other than wav(to big)

Thankx much you have been a big help already

Be careful. In PAL this is not a problem, but in NTSC world some settops don't decode mp2. You should use ac3-2.0 in this case.
