Question Select -R or +R with Dru-500A + Nero?

I've got a Sony DRU-500A using Nero version to burn. I haven't burned anything on this yet.

I couldn't find any "switch" to tell Nero to burn +R or -R. Does anyone know how to select which way to burn OR is this automatically selected by the drive or Nero by detecting disc type?

I also have a HP 200i which is +R. This works fine with Nero - no selection necessary, it just works.

Thanks for any enlightenment.

Well, I'm currently burning my 1st disc on the Sony. Looks like it auto detected what the media was and hopefully, is recording using the appropriate standard.

Does anyone know if the recording or writing is different between -R or +R? What exactly is the difference? Is it disc type / material / special sectors blocked? What is it?
