Default What are your success rates of burning XVid and Divx movies to DVD?

When I was going to build a Divx/Xvid PC to hook up to my TV a year ago I encoded several movies into both of these formats. Using VirtualDub I mixed the .ac3 audio file into the movie file and wrote it to CD. What are your success rates of authoring a DVD from Divx or XVid and were you able to preserve the 5.1 surround track? What was the quality of the DVD like?

-success rate: 100% (as you can play the dvd files on pc first, then it's just a matter of burning)
-5.1 audio: if the imput is 5.1 ac3, then you can preserve it (ifoedit in dvd author mode accepts ac3 audio for example)
-the quality is not better than the original divx/xvid file, but i haven't noticed any degradation either.

That's great that it can keep the .ac3 sound file! I understand it wouldn't look better than the Divx/XVid file but, if that file already looked as good as the DVD (or pretty damn close) it doesn't loose any extra quality either? Awesome. Thanks.
