Question Any Programs to convert .WMV files to .MPEG ??

Ok, laugh if you want, but Windows Movie Maker acutally isn't that bad, and I have tried it a little bit.

Anyways, it will only save into .WMV format (which is wicked stupid might I add)

But, I want my video in .MPEG format. And the only thing that I have found that can do this is Blaze Media Pro.

But, isn't there any freeware for this simple procedure?

Thanks, Vic.

"Oh, and does anyone know of freeware to convert .MOV files to .MPEG's?"

You can use TMPGEnc with the QuickTime plugin...

Question-2

Ok, I got it to convert from .WMV to .MPEG, but the quality is worse, and the size of it changed, is there any way to keep the aspect ratio?

And Second, it won't even open .MOV's.

People keep saying this program is wicked good, but it isn't that easy to use.

Although the .WMV to .MPEG converter is a good thing.

"it won't even open .MOV's."

have you downloaded and installed the REQUIRED Quicktime plugin, as I mentioned in my initial response?

Forgive me, but at the risk of offending you, your response, "Yes. I have quicktime, and the Quicktime Plugin." leads me to believe that you have misunderstood my reference to the "Quicktime plugin". Thi is a plugin made specifically for TMPGEnc and not for Quicktime Pro or the Quicktime player. It's available for download at DVD Digest:

http://www.digital-digest.net/downlo...e/QTReader.zip

If I'm mistaken, and you have unzipped and properly placed this file in your TMPGEnc folder and STILL can't get TMPGEnc to accept a .MOV file for input, please accept my apology ;>}

Oh,. Sorry, I didnt know.

Ok, When I tried that link, it brought me to this page http://www.dvd-digest.tv/leech.html.

Just tell me what page it's on, and I will go download it.

Thanks, Ryan.

I believe that if you temporarily turn off your firewall, you'll be able to D/L using the link I gave you...

You will need to go to the software section of divx-digest to download the plug-in.

Apparently, the administrator of the site does not allow direct links to file downloads, and as you found out, you are instead confronted with a "leech page".

Yup.

And I even turned off my firewall and it still did't work.

Oh, well.
