Does anyone know what this does?

Yes.

With regard to very similar codecs, such as the original Microsoft "MP43" and the original DivX 3.11alpha hack "Div3" and "Div4", it allows you to change the .AVI file header from one to the other, thereby eliminating the need to have both codecs present on your system.

Just curious - why did you post your question on the Xvid sub-forum?

When i installed Xvid ver. CVS 27/03/02, it came with the FourCC Changer. So I thought they were connected with each other!
