Question Help with joining avi files

I am trying to join some avi files. I am currently using VirtualDub. When I try to join two videos, I get a message saying something like this "Cannot append segment: The video streams have different sampling rates (25.00000 vs. 29.97000)." How do I join these files? Please help!

The frame rate is different (frames per second)
you have to re-encode one of them so the framerate matches (in virtualdub: video - frame rate)
Just hope this will not induce audio out of sync
