Default Here's how to convert from xvid

OK I finally was able to convert from xvid and here is the simple way I did it:

First of all I used TMPGEnc 2.5 (version 5.59.47)

After starting TMPGEnc, close the wizard.

Go to Options and choose Enviromental Setting.

Now click on the VFAPIplug-in tab.

Adjust all the plug-in priorities to match the following.

Directshow Multimedia File Reader..................3
AVI2(OpenDML) File Reader............................1
AVI VFW Compatibility Reader.........................0
Ligos MPEG-2 Decoder....................................0
CyberLink Mpeg-2 Decoder.............................0
Microsoft MPEG-1 Decoder..............................0
Wave File Reader............................................ 0
BMP/PPM/TGA/JPG File Reader........................-2
TMPGEnc Project File Reader..........................-2

Now just press OK, and you can now convert XVID as you would any other AVI. (I had the xvid codec installed, but I used no other steps to convert) Also when you load your XVID file choose your output: DVD w/ CBR Linear PCM Audio

You can always reconvert the resulting mpeg file, into what ever you want, you will be free of the xvid format.

You will end up with a wave file and a m2v file (which you can rename the m2v file to mpeg, if you need to)

Example: Die Another Day.m2v

Rename: Die Another Day.mpeg

This will give you a 1:1 conversion.

Good luck and hope this is helpful...
