Unhappy How to Cut a Portion From DivX ????

OK, I have a few DivX movies, that I would like to cut some parts from. I have tried all kinds of software on here, even the one that I thought would work TMPGEnc.

(to covert to mpg, so then I could edit it in Adobe Premiere, because Premiere won't open the DivX either!)

ALL I want to do, is just sut a few things from these videos!
And nothing works!

Anyone have suggestions on what I should use?

Cutting with VirtualDub

1)Load your original (DivX-compressed or otherwise) .AVI into VirtualDub
2) Set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying"
3) Move slider to the starting point of the scene you wish to delete
4) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Go to next keyframe"
5) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection Start"
6) Move slider to the ending point of the scene you wish to delete
7) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Go to next keyframe"
8) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Set Selection End'
9) From the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "Delete frames"
10) Save with a new filename

Question

Hey, Setarip, I tried that, and it said this to me:

"Couldn't Locate decompressor for format 'DIV3' (Microsoft High- Speed MPEG-4 V3 [Hack: DivX Low Motion])

VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) Compatible Codec to decompress Video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player are not Suitable."

Just to test it, I tried like two other DivX videos, and a few .Mpegs.

(The Mpegs worked, while the DivX ones gave the same error as above)

I don't know what the deal is.

you're missing the divx3 codec - no more no less.

install divx3.
