Angry Spliiting divx problems with second file

Hi i have encoded two film using gordian knot and divx5. The two films are over 2 hr's long so i decided to use two cd's. Gordian knot finished the encoding and gave me the correct size file for two cd's i then had the task of splitting this file into two. My first choice was virtual dub. This gave me the error that my sound was not of a constant bit rate. (which is aint) so i gave up on that idea. I then use a program called avi splitter. This seemed to be ok i used divxcat to calculate the split point and split the file in two. The first part plays ok (cd1) but when trying to run the second half (cd2) in several players i get various errors (unsupported file type etc). I've tried moving the split point to several key frames and the frame before and after but the same errors are occuring. Has any got any ideas as i dont want to compress them to one cd.

Thanks
