Default Xvid AC3 Vs Original DVD audio

Is there a Big difference between AC3 audio in Xvid Vs the DD/DTS audio originally present in the DVD from which the xvid was created ???. That is in terms of sound quality and output only.

DTS is better than AC3, though most people with regular sound setups may not notice the difference

if the ac3 audio is untouched, 5.1 audio, then it will be exactly the same as the dvd...
