Thumbs up-2 Can I stream digital Video data?

I have a Panasonic EX3 digital camcorder, I can view my camera in windows ME via my firewire card, but when I try to capture, the resolution is poor. I tried a copy of Adobe Premier 5.0, which in the help file, spoke about transfering the binary data to the hard disk and then importing the data rather than the video into premier (premier does not caputure direct from my camera !)

I have had a quick look at Virtual-dub, but could not get an image to appear.

Ultimatelly I would like to be able to transfer a 60 minute tape onto a 80 minute video cd to playback on my DVD player. At this stage i am not too bothered about editing, just getting maximum quality on to a full vcd.
