Default DVD as 1 video named .AVI??? how?

Hello,

I downloaded a file from emuile today..

it's call blah.avi it's 3.4GB

I have to play using VLC, and it is great quality..

I have two questions... how to I make such a file? from dvd.. I want to convert my favorite movies to my hard drive in a lower bitrate, using divx.. but with menus/soundtrack options/subtitles... all In 1 video file..

and lastly how to I convert this weird file into dvd?

Can DVD be 1 file??? I thought that DVD had many files eg: vobs/ifos etc...

help me... info info you have reguarding this cool video format will be appricated!

First, talking about pirated movies is illegal and not allowed in this forum.

But, for movies that YOU own on DVD, I reccomend Auto Gordian Knot, you can set what filesize you want the movie to be.

For menus, etc. you need to use .divx, mkv or mp4. avi won't cut it.
If this avi played with menus in VLC, then I guess it was an mkv since I don't think it supports divx menus and I know it doesn't support MPEG-4 systems.

first of all, nobody mentioned any pirated material and the original poster did nothing wrong with his/her post.

i like tmpgenc to create dvd files and you should look in the authoring editing forum for other options.
