Cool-2 help with rar

I have a RAR file download but when i go to extract it i get asked for a password. What is this for? Where can i get it? Is there a way round it if not? Am i allowed to ask this question? what comes first night or day?What other questions can i ask?...

What program are you trying to use to open the .RAR file?

doubt there is a way around it, brute force, especially without any clues, could take from a few seconds to a few days to a few weeks; not worth it really. best to ask the creator for the password

I heard from one of my mechanics that he'd downloaded a illegal file in password protected zipped file from a site and it turned out that he got his PC totally infected with virus after opened it. If you get this file (I hope not) from those BAD sites, please don't open it

ive tried using winrar, zip genius 6 and winzip.

Ask the person who uploaded it for the password.
