Default How many codecs?

Hi....

When I open up GSpot it tells me that I have 226 video codecs.

Just wondering if that number is around the norm?

Fyi, my pc is running fine, just curious........

Thanks,
Barry

they're all dshow filters. seems like a large number, but remember a lot of them are splitters, muxers, renderers for both audio and video. the majority of dv editing/playback apps install them, not to mention ones that came with windows.

its not unusual for an app to install more than 1 filter, eg powerdvd installs 10

this workstation i'm currently on has 156, but it couldn't play video to save its cpu
