Default movie files on pc

I am not an expert on all these file types and subtitles types and have a problem with one of the files
by installing realalt and vsfilter I can see avi files on wmp with subtitles from sub file.
I have also a rmvb file that I can play in wmp and mpc, but do not get any subtitles
I have a subtitle file, but not shure about the file extension. how to know the format/extension of this type
00:00:23,760 --> 00:00:27,514
To my sister who would make
could be sub file as it is time offset based and this plays ok
but what is the format of this file ?
{1}{75}movie info: XVID 640x352 25.0 fps|Nigdy.W.Zyciu.2004.LiMITED.DVDRip.XviD-AFO
{1265}{1395}NEVER EVER
and how to get sub-titles with an rmvb file played in wmp or mpc ?
in mpc you can load the file, but still no sub-titles
Any help is welcome
Thanks for all info
Best regards, guy przytula

I'm sure if you or your sister bought the DVD instead of illegally downloading it from the internet, the subtitles would work well.

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to for their supply and great service.
