Default Video/Audio in XviD avi file

I have a file which was encoded with XviD. I downloaded the Xvid codec, but when I view the file, the audio is fine, but the video is flashy. It's like the video is going slower than the audio. I've tried using ffdshow to fix the problem, but it didn't help. I then opened up the file in VirtualDub and it played the video just fine but no audio was available. VDub says that there is no audio codec to hear the audio, but I can hear the audio fine using WinDVD or RealPlayer! Don't know what else to do?

Would appreciate any help, Thanks.
