To convert a VOB files vith AC3 to WMV9 with 5.1 (Pro), you can do that :

1. Use a ripper (Dvd Decrypter for exemple) and demux your VOB file to get the AC3 file of your audio track and a MPEG fies (I don't remember the extension of the file).
2. You must use a software like BeSweet to convert your AC3 file in 6 wave files.
3. Run the Windows Media 9 Encoder.
a. Select a custom session
b. Video input : your MPEG file
c. Audio input : Multiple and associate the correct channel to the correct file
d. Output file
e. Compression : video (DVD VBR 1Mb/s is quite good) and 5.1 (256 VBR is good).
f. Run the encoder
4. Watch !

I think that it should work fine... in theory ! lol
If not, or if you want some others answer. You can mail me !
