Default Volume level in an mpeg2 file

I've got several mpeg2 files which I've generated, and which have a rather low audio volume. I'd like to fix that. I know I can split the file into separate audio and video files and use besweet to do it, but I was hoping there was a way to do it without splitting and combining. From the searching I've done, it looks like no one's really found a need for it. But, I thought I'd check anyway...

1) Load your file into TMPGEnc (Make sure you change mode to the desired MPEG-2 format)

2) Click on the "Advanced" tab

3) Put a checkmark in the box next to "Audio Effects"

4) Doubleclick on the WORDS "Audio Effects"

5) Select the audio volume you desire

6) Click on OK to return to previous window

7) Click on OK to return to primary window

8) Save with a new filename

TCMP (The Core Media Player-I am unsure if the "free edition" supports mpeg-2 playback since it doesn't seem to support dvd playback). It contains the dedynamic audio filter, which can amplify volume.
