Default audio codecs

I am currently using Xmpeg 4.2a; I have an AMD XP processor and also using Windows XP Professional.

In Xmpeg, whenever I chose ‘mp3’ as my audio codec or select any codec for that matter the program crashes. I have already installed the radium codec. Any help regarding the matter would be greatly appreciated

Uninstall (via Control Panel) any OTHER .MP3 codecs - except the radium codec, which includes the word "Professional" in its listing...
