Default media analyser

i'm after some sort of program that will anaylse any media file i open with it and tell me things such as

- codecs used and their birates etc
- framerate
- whether it is interlaced / progressive

and as much other information as possible

anyone know of anything that will do all/some of this?

You can get most of this information by loading the file into virtualdub and select file->'File Information'.
