Default Virtualdubmod error scan

IMHO - the functionality of the error scan routine is incorrect in Virtualdubmod Why I think so:

Open an avi with known corrupted frames in Vdub.
Set the Video/Error Mode to - "Decode even if the results may be garbled".

Scan the Video stream for errors. 0 errors will be reported.

Set the Video/Error Mode to - "Report all Errors".

Scan the Video stream again. The errors will be reported.

In my way of thinking, Reporting errors on a scan should be all errors regardless of the setting. To me, error handling whilst editing or working in the file is different than the expected result of a scan. A scan should report to me all errors regardless of the setting.

Does anyone else feel this way? When I scan a file prior to handing it to AVI2DVD I'm scanning it to assure myself that the 5-7 hours of processing is going to complete.

I should add that I'm a huge fan of Vdubmod specifically for the error scanning reason. I was a Vdub user for a long but I'd crash vdub while compressing. The error scanning allowed me the ability to be able to chop my avi up and edit out the bad stuff, resolve audio sync issues etc.
